DIY Lightsabers for Star Wars Weekends at home

Disney Star Wars Weekends have stated at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We took Brother OMouse for his 13th birthday in 2012. It was an amazing trip. Every time I see pictures of others enjoying the Star Wars Weekends I really want to go back.

I found this very cool idea, for Lightsabers. They made them for a 5 year old's birthday party, I am going to make them for my teenage son, tween daughter and husband.  My family loves everything Star Wars.

They are very simple to make and are cheap. I got all the stuff from the dollar store and it only cost $4.00 to make 4 Lightsabers.

1. Fold the pool noodle in half and cut it. I used really good kitchen scissors. It was kinda tough to cut so be careful.

2. Cover the cut side with duct tape. We covered one way the crossed over the other way. It covered the bottom perfectly.

3. Put on 3 rounds of duct tape. Note: If the sticky sides touch each other when you are doing this just toss the peace and get a new one. Once the sticky sides touch you are not getting them apart.

4. Wrap the PVC tape around the top and bottom, and add stripes down the side.

5. You are ready to join the Jedi and save the universe
